1315: The Great Famine in Europe began, caused by bad weather and crop failures that lasted until 1317. The famine led to widespread hunger, disease, and social unrest, and it had a significant impact on the population and economy of Europe.

1532: Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro and his troops arrived in Cajamarca, Peru, and met with Inca emperor Atahualpa. The meeting ended in violence, and Pizarro captured and executed Atahualpa, leading to the downfall of the Inca Empire.

1777: The Continental Congress approved the Articles of Confederation, which established the first government of the United States of America. The Articles were replaced by the Constitution in 1789.

1864: Union General William T. Sherman began his “March to the Sea” campaign during the American Civil War. Sherman’s troops left Atlanta, Georgia, and marched towards Savannah, Georgia, destroying everything in their path.

1889: Brazil became a republic, overthrowing its monarchy. Marshal Deodoro da Fonseca declared himself the provisional president of Brazil.

1940: During World War II, German bombers attacked the English city of Coventry, causing extensive damage and killing over 500 people. The attack became known as the “Coventry Blitz.”

1969: The first Wendy’s restaurant opened in Columbus, Ohio, USA. The fast-food chain was founded by Dave Thomas and is known for its square-shaped burgers.

1990: The first known web page was created by Tim Berners-Lee, a British computer scientist, at CERN in Switzerland. The page provided information about the World Wide Web project and was hosted on a NeXT computer.
