National Just Because Day is celebrated annually on August 27, and its origins are traced back to the late 1950s in the United States. The day was created by Joseph J. Goodwin, a philanthropist and author from Los Gatos, California.
He wanted to create a day to encourage people to do something out of the ordinary or spread kindness to others, without any particular reason or expectation of receiving something in return.
National Just Because Day is observed to:
1. Encourage spontaneity: The day promotes the idea of doing something different, unexpected, or out of the ordinary simply for the sake of it.
2. Spread kindness: National Just Because Day is an opportunity for people to perform random acts of kindness or make a positive impact on someone else’s life, without expecting anything in return.
3. Foster connections: The day encourages people to reach out to friends, family, or even strangers, helping to strengthen relationships and create new connections.
4. Break routines: National Just Because Day is an invitation to step outside of one
