Europe Day – This day marks the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, which proposed the creation of a European Coal and Steel Community, leading to the creation of the European Union.

World Migratory Bird Day – A day to raise awareness about the importance of migratory birds and their conservation.

Victory Day – A day to commemorate the victory of the Allied forces over Nazi Germany in World War II. It is observed in several countries, including Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.


1386: The Union of Krewo was signed, creating a personal union between the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

1877: The Treaty of Bucharest was signed, ending the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and recognizing the independence of Romania from the Ottoman Empire.

1945: World War II in Europe ended as German forces signed an unconditional surrender document in Berlin. The day is now celebrated as Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

1960: The FDA approved the world’s first oral contraceptive pill, known as “the pill,” for use in the United States.

2001: The U.S. Senate approved a proposal to expand NATO to include seven more countries: Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
